- ----- Tischendorf, Mr. & Mrs. William (Gold – 18 AUG 1965)
Many relatives and friends both from this area and further away attended the surprise celebration on Sunday, Aug. 15, honoring Mr. and Mrs. William Tischendorf of Dorchester on the occasion of their golden wedding anniversary.
A noon dinner for the immediate family was held at the Club Florena, Medford, and was followed by an open house at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Tischendorf, rural Dorchester.
All of the couple’s five children were present. They are Mr. and Mrs. David (Geraldine) Neen, Lake Forest, Ill., Mr. and Mrs. Alton Tischendorf, Stetsonville, Mr. and Mrs. Milton Tischendorf, Hubertus, Mr. and Mrs. Robert (Shirley) Graff, Stetsonville, Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Tischendorf, Dorchester.
The couple’s only attendants at the wedding were present for the anniversary celebration. They were Mrs. Olga Mike of Milwaukee, the former Olga Papesch, and Walter Tischendorf of Onalaska, a brother.
After the marriage of Caroline Skrivani and William Tischendorf, both of the Dorchester area, on Aug. 18, 1915, they moved to their farm in the town of Holton where they resided most of their married life. In 1957 they sold the family farm to their son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Graff.
The Tischendorfs then lived for a time in Milwaukee and in Abbotsford before purchasing their present home in Dorchester about four years ago.
Besides farming, Mr. Tischendorf has done carpenter work and still continues to do so in semiretirement.
The couple has 23 grand children.
Both Mr. and
Mrs. Tischendorf continue to enjoy their usual activities.
