Zurakowski, Mr./Mrs. Walter (Gold - 18 OCT 1966)
Mr. and Mrs. Walter Zurakowski celebrated their golden wedding anniversary on
Oct. 22 at the 11 a.m. high mass at St. Hedwig's Chapel. The Rev. Fr. Edward
Masalewicz officiated the renewal of wedding vows.
They were married at St. Hedwig's Church on Oct. 18, 1916 by Rev. Fr. Frances
Pudlo. They farmed in the town of Reseburg (Clark Co., Wis.) from 1917 to 1951,
which then they retired to a small farm in the town of Withee, near Thorp.
The Zurakowski's are the parents of four children, two daughters and two sons:
Mrs. Melvin Schmidt (Amelia) of Milwaukee, Wis., Mrs. Steve Tienda (Phyllis) of
Chicago, John and Lawrence, both of Thorp. The couple has 15 grandchildren and 5
great-grandchildren.
Dinner and supper reception were held at St. Hedwig's Quonset Hall, with 355
relatives and friends present. The evening was spent dancing.
Out of town guests came from Stanley, Gilman, Withee, Milwaukee, Cudahy,
Pewaukee, West Allis, Greendale, Oak Creek, Oconomowoc, Wauwatosa, Wis.,
Chicago, Norridge, Forest Park, Ill. Battle Creek and Kalamazoo, Mich., and
Guelph, Ontario, Canada.
