Bemmann, Gerhard P. (3 OCT 1908 - 2 JAN 1967)
Gerhard Paul Bemmann of 143 First Ave., Stanley, died of a heart attack Monday
at his place of business, The Welcome Bar.
Mr. Bemmann was born Oct. 3, 1908 at Plausen, Germany. He came to the United
States at the age of 18 and settled in Milwaukee. His marriage to Magdalene
Morell took place Dec. 12, 1931. She died in 1934. On July 1, 1944 he married
Helen Liebiecki and they lived in Milwaukee until Sept. 1951 when they moved to
Stanley and purchased the Welcome Bar.
Surviving are his wife, Helen; his mother, Mrs. Gertrude Bemmann of Germany; two
sons, Richard, Flint, Mich., and Ronald, Butler, Wis.; one brother, Werner,
Germany; and two grandchildren.
Mr. Bemmann was a member of the Stanley Commercial Club; the Masonic Lodge; the
Aurora Lodge No. 30, Milwaukee; and Scottish Rite 32nd Degree.
Funeral services will be conducted by the Stanley Masonic Lodge on Thursday at 2
p.m. at the Plombon Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Oakland Cemetery in
Stanley.
