Bender, Debra Jean (Marriage - 24 June 1972)
Miss Debra Jean Bender became the bride of Michael Ralph Bauer in a 6 p.m.
ceremony performed June 24 at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Hartford. Officiating
were the Rev. Maurice Felton, pastor of the church and The Rev. Richard
Fleischman pastor of St. Kilian’s Roman Catholic Church at Hartford. A 7 p.m.
dinner at the Chart House, North Lake, was followed by dancing. Mr. and Mrs.
Curtiss Bender of Rt. 1 Hartford are the bride’s parents, and the groom is the
son of Mrs. Ralph Bauer of Neillsville and the late Mr. Bauer.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore an A-line gown of organza and
Chantilly lace styled with a chapel-length train. Her headpiece of lace petals
held a three-tiered veil. She carried a cascade arrangement of yellow garnet
roses.
Matron of honor Mrs. Geri Hansen, Neillsville, was attired in a gown of lime
chiffon and carried a bouquet of yellow roses and white carnations. Bridesmaids
Dawn Bender, Luanne Gross and Patricia Cleary, all of Hartford, wore gowns of
apricot chiffon and carried arrangements of apricot roses and white carnations.
Gene Smith, Granton, served as bestman. Groomsmen were Donald Quicker and
Patrick Bauer of Neillsville and Donald Bender of Hartford. Guests were seated
by Robert Barth and Bud Hansen, both of Neillsville.
The bride, a 1972 graduate of Hartford Union High School, is employed by a
Hartland firm. Her husband, who graduated from Neillsville High School in 1964
and studied for a year at the Eau Claire Technical Institute, is employed as a
communications craftsman in Milwaukee.
