Vine, Dale Irving (1 June 1945 - 5 June 2014)
Dale I. Vine, 69, of Granton died Thursday, June 5, 2014, at the Memorial
Medical Center in Neillsville.
Dale Irving Vine was born in Neillsville June 1, 1945, the son of Irving and
Frieda (Hillert) Vine. Dale lived his entire life in Granton. He was known as a
hard worker and spent many years hauling milk and then farming until he retired
in 1994. Dale then spent his time driving truck for Smith Feed and Trieweiler
for many years. He was united in marriage to Donna Tompkins Feb. 2, 1977, in
Neillsville. Dale was well known in the community and loved to be out in the
woods, either making wood for burning or making maple syrup.
He is survived by his wife, Donna; seven children, Teresa Thompson of Wauwatosa,
Craig (Brenda) Roehl of Oswego, IL, Jolene (Joe) Lensmire of Green Bay, Sherry
(Mark) Boettcher of Augusta, Mike (Amber) Vine of Neillsville, Jerilyn “Jay”
Vine of Menasha and Denise Vine of Cashton; nine granddaughters, Nicole Lensmire,
Brittney Roehl, Jasmin Boettcher, Hallie Bieneck, Brianna Bieneck, Elizabeth
Thompson, Kylie Roehl, Bella Bieneck and Abby Wheeler. He is also survived by
nine grandsons, who will served as his casketbearers: Ronnie Vine, Brett Opelt,
Jeff Vine, Cody Winkler, Dallas Opelt, Nicholas Gore, Nathan Berg, Austin
Boettcher and Garrett Roehl; and siblings: Fern (Donald) Rowe of Granton, Robert
(Diane) Vine of Marshfield, Harold (Kathy) Vine, Kenny (Bev) Vine and Ronnie
(Diane) Vine, all of Granton; and extended family member Damon Vine.
Preceding him in death were his parents and two sons, Dale Vine Jr. and Gary
Roehl.
A funeral service for Dale was held at 11 a.m. Monday, June 9, 2014, at the
Gesche Funeral Home in Neillsville. Intern Pastor Ken Schmidt officiated.
Visitation was held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday, June 8, 2014 and one hour
prior to the service Monday at the Gesche Funeral Home.
