Weber, Marian J. (23 November 1932 - 31 May 2014)
Marian J. Weber, age 81, of Owen, formerly of Thorp, died on Saturday, May 31,
2014, at Ministry St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield. Graveside services were
held at 1:00 p.m. on Thu8rsday, June 5, 2014, at St. Bernard’s Catholic
Cemetery, in Thorp, with Rev. Janusz Kowalski officiating.
Marian J. Kowalski was born in Chicago, IL on November 23, 1932, a daughter of
the late Priscilla (Babulski) and Joseph Kowalski. She received her education at
Thorp and Greenwood area schools. After completing her education, Marian went to
work in the laundry department at Victory Memorial Hospital in Stanley. She
later moved to Illinois, where she met her future husband Willard Weber. They
were united in marriage on July 10, 1954, and lived in Evanston, IL, where
Marian worked as a clerk in a factory. They remained in Evanston, IL until
returning to thorp in 1960. In addition to being a housewife, Marian also worked
as a waitress and as a childcare provider. Following her husband’s death on June
18, 1991, Marian resided in Greenwood until entering the Clark County Health
Care Center in 2001.
She is survived by two sisters: Dorothy (Jack) Braddock of Tucson, AZ and
Patricia (John) Nerdrum of Altoona, WI; nieces, nephews, other relatives and
friends.
Marian was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Willard; her brother,
Larry Fillo; and her stepfather, Frank Fillo.
