Funeral services for William H. Winkel, Rice Lake, a former Curtiss area resident, were held Jan 29 at Rice Lake and burial was in the Mikana cemetery. Mr. Winkel died Jan. 27 at his home. He was 80 years old.
Born Oct. 2, 1885, at Stockridge, he worked as a cook on the logging camps as a young man. Later he was a farmer in the Green Grove and Curtiss areas, before moving to Rice Lake about 20 years ago. His first wife, Ida, died in 1957.
Surviving are his wife, Margaret; one son, Alex, of Colby; four grand children and two great grand children; two brothers, Carl, Rice Lake, and Herman, Chilton, and one sister, Mrs. Edmund (Hattie) Thede, Abbotsford. He was preceded in death by one daughter and one son, both in infancy, three brothers and two sisters.

Darrel, Colby, Mr. and Mrs. Roger Carlson, Marshfield, Miss Mardell Winkel,
Menomonie, Mrs. Janice Dassow, Medford, Mr. and Mrs. Edmund Thede and Leroy
