Baltus, Mary Ann (Schaetz) (14 AUG 1934 - 2 JUN 2014)
Mary Ann Baltus, age 79, of Owen, formerly of Willard, died on Monday, June 2,
2014, at the Clark County Health Care Center, in Owen.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, June 9, 2014. at Holy Family
Catholic Church in Willard. Rev. Joseph Follmar will officiate and burial will
follow in Holy Family Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at the church, on Monday, from 10 a.m. until time of
service.
Mary Ann Schaetz was born in Auburndale, WI, on August 14, 1934, a daughter of
the late Martha (Seidel) and Carl Schaetz.
She was raised on the family farm and received her education in the Auburndale
area. After completing her education, Mary Ann worked for families in the
Auburndale area doing domestic work. She was united in marriage to Lyle Benjamin
Baltus in 1956. They moved to the Town of Seif, in Clark County, WI, where they
farmed and raised seven children. Her husband, Lyle, died an accidental death on
March 24, 1973. Mary Ann resided the rest of her life in Willard and Owen.
She had many interests, but especially loved spending time with her children and
grandchildren, and gardening. Mary is survived by one son, Robert Baltus of
Willard, WI; five daughters, JoAnn (Mark) Zarnke of Rockford, IL; Kathleen
Baltus of Wilmington, DE; Judith Baltus of Stoughton, WI; Karen Baltus of Cross
Plains, WI; Barb Mulnix of Madison, WI; ten grandchildren; 5
great-grandchildren; one sister, Rose (Lawrence) Carter of Marshfield, WI; two
brothers, Carl (Rose) Schaetz of Wisconsin Rapids, WI; Jake (Alice) Schaetz of
Hewett, WI; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lyle; her son, David J.
Baltus on January 9, 1996; and one granddaughter, Amanda Sue Baltus-Varsho on
November 8, 1985.
