Ziembo, Emma R. (Gerstberger) (7 JUL 1918 - 29 MAY 2014)

Emma R. Ziembo, 95, town of Greenwood, died on Thursday, May 29 at Golden LivingCenter in Rib Lake, where she had resided the past two weeks.

Funeral services were held on Sunday, June 1 at Hemer Funeral Home in Rib Lake, with Rev. David Clements officiating. Interment was at Lakeview Cemetery in Rib Lake. Pallbearers were Brian, Andy, Steve and Kyle Ziembo and Mike and Jeffrey Quednow.

The former Emma Gerstberger was born on July 7, 1918 in the Town of Rib Lake to the late Ernest and Gertrude (Thone) Gerstberger. She attended Fawn Valley Elementary School in the Town of Rib Lake.

On May 30 1938 in Rib Lake, she married Felix "Phillip" A. Ziembo, who preceded her in death on January 26, 1973. They farmed in the town of Greenwood, and while farming she worked at the Rib Lake Creamery and Gem Products, both in Rib Lake.

She enjoyed gardening, bowling, cooking, playing cards, polka music and trips to the casino.
Survivors include two sons, Lawrence "Larry" (Marge) Ziembo and Le Roy (Karen) Ziembo, both of Rib Lake; a brother, Elmer Gerstberger of Rib Lake; a sister, Betty Quednow of Rib Lake; four sisters-in-law, Marlene Gerstberger, Angela Gerstberger and Helen Ziembo, all of Rib Lake, and Bernice Ziembo of Medford; five grandchildren, Steve (Cindy) Ziembo and Andy (Terese) Ziembo, both of Medford, Brian Ziembo of Rib Lake, Debra (Mike) Quednow of Westboro and Julie (Don) Yankura of Cleveland, Ohio; five great-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; one step-great-great-granddaughter; and nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by nine siblings, Glendon "Sonny," Otto and Arthur Gerstberger, Esther Kluckman, Alice Ziembo, Edna Rezutek, Marcella Daubert, and two in infancy.
