Wiesman, Robert J. (15 JUL 1927 - 29 MAY 2014)
Robert J. Wiesman, age 86, of Stratford, passed away Thursday, May 29, 2014, at
Northside Elder Estate in Stratford with his wife, Grace, at the bedside.
Robert was born July 15, 1927, in Stratford, son of the late Emil and Anna (Schoenfuss)
Wiesman. He attended Sunshine School and graduated from Stratford High School.
After graduation Robert married the former Grace Landwehr on September 9, 1950.
Robert was drafted into the Korean War in October of 1950. After his honorable
discharge in July 1952, Bob worked for Marathon Electric in Wausau, Graber
Manufacturing in Middleton, and then for JI Case. He also had a tool and die
shop at his home. His hobbies included hard work, golfing, bowling and dancing.
Robert served on the Marathon County Board for twenty-four years, the Town of
Cleveland Board and 20 years on the Stratford Fire Department. Bob was a member
of St. Andrew’s Catholic Church in Rozellville.
He is lovingly survived by his wife, Grace, of Stratford; his son, Thomas
Wiesman of Eau Claire; and his daughter, Barbara (Larry) Pribble of Indiana. Bob
is further survived by four sisters, Grace Stefan of Chicago, Agnes Brinkmann of
Marshfield, Marjorie Zastrow of Weston and Mary Ann Wiesman of La Crosse;
step-grandchildren, Michelle (Robert) Klut of Hammond, Ind., and Angela (Robert)
Figueroa of Hobart, Ind.; and a step-great-grandchild, Ayden Figueroa of
Indiana.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Evelyn and Magdelin; and
four brothers, Harvey, Albert, Anton and Leonard in infancy.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, June 5, 2014, at
St. Andrew’s Catholic Church in Rozellville. Rev. James Schaefer will preside.
Music will be provided by St. Andrew’s Folk Choir. Following the service,
military rites will be conducted by the Stratford VFW Post 6352. Committal
service in St. Andrew’s Cemetery will take place at a later date.
Family and friends are invited to gather on Wednesday at the church in
Rozellville from 5-8 p.m. and again on Thursday from 10 a.m. until time of
service. Jim Griesbach, Gary Wyman, Frank Wojik and Rick Stefan will serve as
pallbearers for Bob.
