Vine, Dale I. (1 JUN 1945 - 5 JUN 2014)

Dale I. Vine, 69, Granton, died on Thursday, June 5, 2014, at the Memorial Medical Center in Neillsville. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., on Monday, June 9, at the Gesche Funeral Home in Neillsville. Intern Rev. Ken Schmidt officiated. Casket bearers were his grandsons.

Dale Irving Vine was born on June 1, 1945, in Neillsville, the son of Irving and Frieda (nee Hillert) Vine. He lived his entire life in Granton. He was known as a hard worker and spent many years hauling milk and then farming until he retired in 1994. Dale then spent his time driving truck for Smith Feed and Trierweiler for many years. He married Donna Tompkins on Feb. 2, 1977, in Neillsville. Dale was well known in the community and loved to be out in the woods, either making wood for burning or making maple syrup.

He is survived by his wife, Donna; seven children, Teresa Thompson, Wauwatosa, Craig (Brenda) Roehl, Oswego, Ill., Jolene (Joe) Lensmire, Green Bay, Sherry (Mark) Boettcher, Augusta, Mike (Amber) Vine, Neillsville, Jerilyn “Jay” Vine, Menasha, and Denise Vine, Cashton; nine granddaughters, Nicole Lensmire, Brittney Roehl, Jasmin Boettcher, Hallie Bieneck, Brianna Bieneck, Elizabeth Thompson, Kylie Roehl, Bella Bieneck and Abby Wheeler; nine grandsons, Ronnie Vine, Brett Opelt, Jeff Vine, Cody Winkler, Dallas Opelt, Nicholas Gore, Nathan Berg, Austin Boettcher and Garrett Roehl; his siblings, Fern (Donald) Rowe, Granton, Robert (Diane) Vine, Marshfield, Harold (Kathy) Vine, Granton, Kenny (Bev) Vine, Granton, and Ronnie (Diane) Vine, Granton; and extended family member Damon Vine.

Preceding him in death were his parents, and two sons, Dale Vine Jr. and Gary Roehl.
