Felhofer, Charolette D. (Nelson) (4 DEC 1924 - 11 JUN 2014)
Charolette D. Felhofer, 89, of Marshfield, Wisconsin died, Wednesday, June 11,
2014, at Ministry Saint Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield. A Mass of Christian
Burial will be at 11:00 am on Friday, June 20, 2014 at Our Lady of Peace
Catholic Church with Rev. Eric Berns officiating.
Entombment will take place in Hillside Cemetery Mausoleum. The visitation will
be from 5 pm to 7 pm on Thursday at Rembs Funeral Home and from 10:00 am on
Friday until service time at the Church.
Charolette was born December 4, 1924, in Dorchester, Wisconsin to Harry and
Florence (Mead) Nelson. A graduate of New Lisbon High School, she played French
horn and oboe in high school and was a drum majorette in the marching band. She
also graduated from Saint Joseph's School of Nursing.
She married Richard F. Felhofer on October 23, 1947 at Sacred Heart Catholic
Church in Marshfield. He died on January 18, 2006. Charolette was selected as
Mrs. Wisconsin in 1952 and was a finalist in the Mrs. America Pageant. She did
some modeling and also worked as a registered nurse at St. Joseph's Hospital in
Marshfield. She enjoyed needlework, crafts, card games, bowling, and dancing in
her younger years and more recently making jewelry, coloring and Bingo.
She is survived by her daughter, Judy (Ramiro) Duenes of Rochester, MN, and
their children Tamara (Eric) Buechler of Rochester, MN, Rebecca (Matt) Cuellar
of Cottage Grove, MN, Sara Duenes of Minneapolis, MN, and Jonathan Duenes of
Rochester, MN; a son, Don (Karen) Felhofer of Marshfield,WI and their children
Brian (Sarah Beth) Felhofer of Appleton, WI, and John (Stephanie) Felhofer of
Wausau, WI; and a daughter-in-law Marylouise Felhofer of Kenosha, WI. Charolette
has 8 great-grandchildren, Jack, Joey, Sam and Sophia Buechler, Ali and Teddy
Cuellar and Chase and Evan Felhofer.
She was predeceased by her parents, her husband, Dick, her son, Paul, a brother,
Bob and a sister, Marilynn.
The family wishes to extend special thanks to all who cared for Charolette at
Bethel Center and at Ministry St. Joseph's 8th floor and Palliative Care.
Memorials may be designated in her name to the Marshfield Area Community
Foundation for a nursing scholarship. Condolences can be sent online to
