Roder, James (21 Aug 1902 - 12 Nov 1968)

James D. Roder, 66, Loyal, died at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield. Cause of death was lung cancer.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the United Methodist Church at Loyal. Burial will be in the Loyal Cemetery> The Rev. Conrad Mickelson will officiate.

The body will lie in state at the Myre Funeral Home beginning Thursday morning.

Mr. Roder was born on August 21, 1902 at Begstone, South Dakota. January 5, 1931 he was married to Vera Smith at St. Paul, Minnesota.

As a small child he moved to Ortonville, Minnesota where he lived until about 1929. Shortly after his marriage he moved to Loyal. In 1935 he was employed by the Railroad where he worked until 1956 when he retired because of ill health.

Besides his wife he is survived by three sons, Darrel, Marshfield; Orville, Janesville and Allen, at home; three grandchildren; one brother, Charles, Ortonville, Minnesota; three sisters, Mrs. Emma Buck, St. Paul, Minnesota. Mrs. Delia Prust, North St. Paul, Minnesota; and Mrs. Rose Gahr, Odessa, Minnesota.

He was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.
