Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Catherine Van Dreel, town of Frankfort, were held Monday, March 21, at St. Mary’s Catholic church, Colby.  Mrs. Van Dreel died of an apparent heart attack shortly before midnight March 16, at Milan.  She was 74 years old.  The Rev. John Pinion officiated at the funeral rites and burial was in the parish cemetery.  A general rosary and a Christian Mothers rosary were said Sunday evening.  Funeral arrangements were attended to by Lulloff Funeral Home, Colby.

Born Mary Catherine Schilling at Sherwood Jan. 8, 1892, she came to the Colby area with her parents when she was 12 years old.  They settled in the town of Frankfort.  Her marriage to Henry Van Dreel, who survives, took place April 20, 1909, at St. Mary’s Catholic church, Colby.  The couple made their home in the town of Frankfort, where they lived for the remainder of her life.  Mrs. Van Dreel was a member of St. Mary’s congregation and the Christian Mothers Society.

Survivors, besides her husband, are three sons, Jerome, Wisconsin Rapids, Virgil, Marquette, Mich., and Floyd, Colby; five daughters, Mrs. Joe (Roselyn) Schmirler, Edgar, Mrs. Lloyd (Helen) Treankler, Stratford, Mrs. Otto (Verona) Lueschow, Wisconsin Rapids, Mrs. Ludmilla Klanowski, Wisconsin Rapids, and Mrs. William (Donna) Waldhardt, Appleton; three brothers, Joe Schilling of Abbotsford, Andrew of Appleton and Jake of Edgar; four sisters, Mrs. Clara Bosner, Milwaukee, Mrs. Jerry (Olive) Tuyzneiski, Milwaukee, Mrs. Ervin (Eleanor) Schmidt, Milwaukee, and Mrs. John (Ida) Sazama, Colby; 40 grand children and 29 great grand children.  She was preceded in death by one sister and one brother.
