Gay, Rose (12 AUG 1875 - 9 FEB 1967)
Mrs. Rose Gay, age 91, born Aug. 12, 1875, died Feb. 9, 1967.
Born in Krakow, Poland, she was married to Karol Gay Feb. 6, 1896 in Krakow,
Poland. She came to the United States to join her husband in Feb. 1903 on the
steamship Kaiser Wilhelm II, which arrived in New York. They reside in Chicago,
Ill. From Feb. 1903 to May 1909. She moved to a farm in Lublin, Wis. May of
1909, and lived there with her family till June of 1922, and moved to another
farm located in Thorp (Clark Co.), Wis., until they retired in about 1947. She
lived the rest of her retirement in Withee and Owen. She was a resident of the
Havenet Nursing Home in Owen, Wis. at the time of her death.
Her husband Karol preceded her in death Oct. 4, 1951.
She is survived by 8 children: Mrs. D.C. Patterson (Mae) of Phoenix, Ariz.; Mrs.
Teclaw (Caroline), Owen; Mrs. V. Wm. Milew (Rose) of Fontana, Calif.; Thaddeus
(Ted) Gay, Owen, Wis.; Mrs. John Kaczor (Wanda), Withee, Wis.; Mrs. Alfred Arndt
(Josephine) Withee, Wis., and Frank Gay, Withee, Wis.; twenty grandchildren and
21 great-grandchildren.
She was laid to rest in the Riverside Cemetery, Withee.
