Thomfohrda, Harry Eugene (6 DEC 1937 - 25 JAN 2003)

Harry Eugene Thomfohrda, 65, formerly of Woodstock and Gilman, Wis., died Saturday, Jan. 25, 2003, at his home in Las Vegas, Nev.

He was born Dec. 6, 1937, in Algonquin, to Harry and Lucille (Macaben) Thomfohrda. He married Jeanne Lockinger Oct. 1, 1960, in Woodstock.

He was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose for many years. He was an avid sports fan, enjoyed the company of friends’ and grandchildren’s teams or simply watching a game on television. He took an interest in his community and spent many hours coaching Little League baseball teams in Illinois and Wisconsin.

His greatest pleasure was spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was a kind and gentle man who will be greatly missed by those who knew him.

Survivors include his wife, Las Vegas; a daughter, Penny Buchholz, Holcombe, Wis.; a son, Carl Thomfohrda, Centuria, Wis.; five grandchildren, Joshua and Amanda Buchholz, and Jacob, Brittany and Sierra Thomfohrda; a brother, Willard Thomfohrda, Woodstock; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and two sons, Gregory and Kenneth.

Visitation was Jan. 31 at Schneider-Leucht-Merwin & Cooney Funeral Home, Woodstock. The funeral Mass was held Feb. 1 at St. Mary Catholic Church, Woodstock, with the Rev. James McLoughlin officiating.

Burial was in Calvary Cemetery, Woodstock Memorials may be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
