Funeral services were held Wednesday, April 20, for John P. Reeves, Colby. The Rev. John Pinion conducted the services held at St. Mary’s Catholic church, Colby. Burial was made in the parish cemetery with graveside rites performed by the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Funeral arrangements were handled by the Lulloff Funeral Home, Colby. The rosary was recited Tuesday evening at the church.
Mr. Reeves died April 17 at the Neillsville Memorial hospital. He was 70 years old.
John P. Reeves was born Jan. 12, 1896, at Colby, where he received his education. His marriage to Claribel Wolf took place in November of 1919 at Cleveland, Ohio. Mrs. Reeves preceded her husband in death in 1951. He worked most of his life as a mechanic in the Colby area, leaving to work in Milwaukee for 12 years, after which he returned to Colby in 1954.
Survivors are six sons, Robert, Chester, James, Richard, Carl and Bruce, all of Milwaukee; three daughters, Mrs. Anthony (Hazel) Corso, Mrs. Jack (Dorothy) Schmitz and Mrs. James (Priscilla) Higgins, all of Milwaukee; 28 grand children, one great grand child; one brother, Harold Reeves, of Abbotsford; and one sister Mrs. Neva Harry, Colby. He was preceded in death by one brother, Henry.
