Zasoba, John (1 MAY 1880 - 01 MAR 1967)
John Zasoba, 86, Withee (Clark Co., Wis.), died at 6 a.m. Saturday at the Clark
County Hospital at Owen, where he had been a patient for the past four months.
Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. today, Thursday, at St. John's Lutheran
Church at Withee, with the Rev. LeRoy Urman officiating. Burial will be made in
Riverside Cemetery.
Mr. Zasoba was born May 1, 1880 in St. Petersburg, Russia, and received his
education there before coming to the United States in July 1897. He was employed
for a brief period in a shoe factory in New York, and then came to Curtiss
(Clark Co.) to work for the Owen Lumber Co.
In May of 1905 he opened a shoe shop repair service in Withee, and several years
later he added harness supplies to his stock of merchandise.
His marriage to Clara Baehr took place Jan. 24, 1906, at Withee.
Mr. Zasoba was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church at Withee.
In addition to his wife, surviving are two sons, Eldon, Omaha, Neb., Clinton,
Franklin, Wis., and a brother, Peter, Withee.
A son preceded him in death.
