The Redeemer Lutheran Church, Peoria, Illinois was the scene of the candlelight
ceremony of Miss Darlene Maria Johnson and Robert E. Campbell, Jr.
Parents of the couple are Mrs. Joseph Schneider, route 5, Eau Claire (former
Altha Morse) and Norman F. Johnson, Barrington, Illinois and Mr. and Mrs. Robert
E. Campbell, rural Princeville, Illinois,
The double ring ceremony was performed by the Rev. R. E. Stuckwish on Friday
evening, November 29 at 7:30 p.m.
Merle Kent sang "The Wedding Prayer" and "The Lord'a Prayer" accompanied by
Jerrold Dankert, as organist. Russell Potter, Jack Begner and Keith Wilscon were
the ushers.
The bride given in marriage by her father wore a white lace over bridal satin
bodice. The scalloped edge of lace adorned the neckline and edge of her long
sleeves , with a satin skirt. The chapel train attached at the waist and had
appliques of lace in the pattern of falling leaves. Her shoulder length veil was
attached to a crown of beads and she carried a bouquet of pheloponopsies
orchids, yellow roses and ivy. Her only jewelry was a pair of miniature earrings
given to the bride by her only sister, Marilyn, who was unable to attend the
wedding, as she is in Okinawa with her husband, AIC Craig Hansen.
Miss Rebecca Campbell, twin sister of the groom was the maid of honor. She wore
a blue velvet bodice with scooped neckline, elbow length sleeves on an empire
waist a slightly gathered skirt of moire satin and a headpiece with a matching
crown with a blue net veil. She carried a orange daisy orchid and baby yellow
mums.
Murray Campbell served his brother as best man.
A reception was held following the ceremony in the church basement.
The bride is a former resident of the town of York, Clark County. She moved to
Barrington, Illinois with hr parents at the age of 6 where she received he
education. She graduated this June from Illinois State University and is
teaching the sixth grade at Beverly Manor School at Washington, Illinois. The
groom is a graduate of the Princeville Community High School in Illinois and
served in the U.S. Army for two years. He is employed by the Caterpillar Tractor
Co. in East Peoria, Illinois.
The couple reside at 103 Hillcrest Drive, Washington. Illinois.
