Steinhilber, James H. (18 JUL 1950 – 29 JUN 2014)
James H. Steinhilber, Sr., Age 63, of Owen, passed away Sunday, June 29, 2014 at
Ministry Saint Joseph Hospital in Marshfield.
A funeral service will be held at 11AM on Saturday, July 12, 2014 at Life
Tributes Funeral Home in Spencer. Rev. Joel Deaner-Rogers will officiate.
Military honors conducted by American Legion Post 54 of Marshfield will follow
the service. A visitation will be held on Saturday at the funeral home in
Spencer from 9AM until time of service. Private burial services will be held at
Northern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Spooner.
James was born July 18, 1950 in Cuba City, Wisconsin, the son of Erwin and Helen
(Gottschalk) Steinhilber. After graduating from Dubuque, Iowa Senior High he was
drafted into the army and served his country in the Vietnam War from August 1968
until November of 1971. Following his honorable discharge from the military,
James worked as an over the road truck driver.
On August 11, 1983 he married the former Emma Mae Lamasters in New Lisbon. James
and Emma resided in Withee until his passing. Jim loved music, playing his
guitar and bass tuba drums at different venues while on the road, at one point
he played at the Grand Ole Opry. His hobbies included traveling, fishing,
camping and watching the packers.
He is lovingly survived by his wife of 30 years, Emma Mae, of Withee; three
sons: Fred (Jackie) Steinhilber of Withee, Jay (Wanda) Zepeda of Des Moines, IA
and Andrew (Sarah) Steinhilber of Omaha, NE; one daughter: Rose (Eusebio)
Steinhilber of Owen; one step-daughter: Sherry Lowe of Kennan and one step-son:
Roger (Jessica) Lowe of Warren, OH. James is further survived by one brother:
Gerald (Pam) Steinhilber of Lovespark, IL and their two children; a sister:
Joyce Hammill of Dubuque, IA and their 3 children; 18 grandchildren with one on
the way and two great-grandchildren.
James was preceded in death by his parents; two daughters: Cindy in infancy and
Joleen and a brother-in-law Denny Hammill.
