Laniewski, Anton E. (28 MAY 1915 - 17 MAR 1967)
Anton E. Laniewski, 51, rt. 5, Chippewa Falls, co-owner of Bateman Store and
Tavern, died suddenly at his home at 10 a.m. Friday.
Born May 28, 1915 in Gilman, he attended Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.) schools and was
graduated in 1934 from high school. He attended St. Mary's College, Winona,
Minn., and then moved to Chicago and was employed in a machine works for several
years. He moved to Bateman over 19 years ago and was co-owner of the store until
his death.
Survivors are his mother, Sophia Laniewski, rt. 5, Chippewa Falls; three
brothers, Leon, Felix, rt. 5, Stanley; two sisters, Mrs. John Smojeila, Mrs. Ed
Swirczinski, both of Chicago.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Monday at Notre Dame Church. Burial was in
Bateman Cemetery.
