“The Senior Class meeting will now come to order,” booms the voice over the
chatter of seventy some seniors. The voice is that of Mark Meske. Leading the
class of ’67 this year as its president, he has in the two previous years also
been its treasurer. Participation in intramural sports and bother the Senior and
Junior class plays has been a part of his high school career.
As he stands in front of the class, he is surveyed by all. Let me see, he stands
about 5’10”, has dark brown hair, and hides behind black glasses. Looking
closer, I see blue-green eyes. His age? Eighteen as of January 22.
What is the class president really like? Mark is just one of the “gang”. His
favorite past times include cars and cycles in one category, and girls, Saturday
nights, and other related subjects in the other category. He hates people who
stick their noses into other people’s business.
Colors that make a hit with him are brown and blue. And if you want to be
especially nice, serve him coke and play the records “Bad Times” from the “Wild
Angels.” Don’t be offended if he greets you with “Hi Jhebe!” because this is his
favorite saying.
Mark’s future plan is to go to school, probably St. Norbert’s. Meanwhile, he is
going to enjoy himself by using the advice he gives to underclassmen – “Do it!”
