Humboldt, Judith Ann (Marriage - 19 August 1972)
Bouquets of pink gladioli decorated the altar of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in
Neillsville as Miss Judith Ann Humboldt became the bride of Bernard G. Spiegel.
The Rev. Charles D. Brady officiated at the 2 p.m., August 19 ceremony.
The bride, given in marriage by her brother, Dale Humboldt, is the daughter of
Mrs. Ruth Humboldt, Rt. 1 Willard. Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Spiegel, Rt. 1 Granton,
are the groom’s parents.
A hand-fashioned, empire-style bridal gown of beige crepe featuring Camelot
sleeves and framed by an elbow-length tulle veil caught by a lace cap was chosen
by the former Miss Humboldt. She carried an arrangement of strawflowers, baby’s
breath, asters, cornflowers and miniature carnations in shades of lavender,
purple, pink and white.
The bride’s sister, Miss Joyce Humboldt of Willard, as maid of honor and Miss
Marilyn Horswill as bridesmaid were attired in full-sleeved, empire-style gowns
of orchid crepe accented with glamilia bouquets.
David Spiegel, brother of the groom, served as bestman. Dennis Spiegel was the
groomsman. The bride’s brother, Gary Humboldt, and the groom’s brother, Bruce
Spiegel, acted as ushers.
“One Hand, One Heart” and “The Wedding Prayer” were sung by Joyce Tesmer of
Colby. Mrs. Glenn Short was the organist. A reception was held in the American
Legion Hall.
The new Mrs. Spiegel has completed three years at the University of
Wisconsin-Eau Claire and will continue her education at the University of
Wisconsin-Whitewater. Her husband attended District One Technical Institute at
Eau Claire and is presently employed in Stoughton.
