Hagen, Connie Jean (Marriage - 19 August 1972)
A reception in the church basement followed the wedding of Miss Connie Jean
Hagen and Roger Wayne Carl Saturday afternoon at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran
Church at Globe. The Rev. Robert Bitter officiated at the 2 p.m. double-ring
ceremony performed before approximately 200 guests.
Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur V. Hagen of Rt. 3, Neillsville,
and Mr. and Mrs. Herman A. Carl of Neillsville. Her father presented the bride
in marriage.
The former Miss Hagen appeared in a candlelight Empire-bodice gown of sheer
organza over taffeta which presented its own sweeping train. The bodice was
rimmed with lace, rickrack and pearls, as were the full-length, cuffed sleeves.
A shoulder-length pillbox veil was coordinately decorated with lace and pearls.
A colonial arrangement of miniature orange Sweetheart roses, white mums and
baby’s breath made up the bridal bouquet.
Miss Janet Hainz was the maid of honor and Miss Candace Sturtz was the
bridesmaid. Their long-sleeved, Empire-waist gown of white nylon trimmed with
green ribbon featured, respectively, a blue floral and a yellow floral design.
Small, colonial-style holders containing white miniature carnations, ferns and
blue and yellow statice to coordinate with the gowns were backed with green
ribbons.
Douglas Anding served as bestman. Groomsman was Eugene Carl of La Crosse.
Ushering duties were shared by William Erpenbach and David Anding.
Soloist Bob Mitte sang “The Lord’s Prayer” and “O Perfect Love.” Mrs. Karen
Hoppa was the organist.
The bride and groom are graduates of Neillsville High School. She is a member of
the class of 1972 and he is of the class of 1970. Both are employed in
Neillsville. The couple will live on Rt. 2 Neillsville, at Snyder’s Lake.
