Sunday p.m., Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Romig were guests at the D.L. Pickering and the
Ellis Stanford home in Sheldon. They were supper guests at the Darrell Romig
home here.
Mr. and Mrs. Norman Wilcenski and family and Mrs. Victoria Wilcenski spent
Sunday at the James Boylan home in Withee.
Tuesday, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Glidden were callers at the Walter Brenner home
in Thorp.
Mr. and Mrs. Don Dobrzynski and daughter of Thorp visited the latter's parents,
the Aloys Van den Heuvels', Monday evening.
Mrs. Anna Brandt, Mrs. Mary Kornesczuk and Mrs. Josephine Walogorski spent
Sunday p.m. in Chippewa and visited Mrs. Meta Seaman, a patient at the St.
Joseph's Hospital.
Last frid, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Gay made a business trip to Medford.
Word was received here of the death last week of Fred Klein, an old time
resident, but now of Lancaster, Wis.
Funeral services were held here yesterday for George Groves, and old time
resident, but now of Round Lake, Ill.
Sunday p.m., Louis Komanec celebrated her 13th birthday by inviting three of her
school mates to her home. Friends were Sally Kowalczyk, Cindy Hierlmeier, Sharon
Klimeck.
Mr. and Mrs. Emil Samplawski spent Wednesday evening with Mr. and Mrs. Bill
Knapp.
Mrs. Walter Koltis and daughter Susan and friend, and Mrs. Grace Boardman of
Thorp were Sunday afternoon visitors of Mrs. Angie Vander Linden.
Mr. and Mrs. Max Siemek and family spent Sunday in Eau Claire and attended the
Confirmation of Susan Heilling at the Pinehurst Lutheran Church. Later they were
dinner guests at the Heilling home.
Sunday p.m., Mr. and Mrs. Victor Nicashe, Mrs. Emma Vander Kamp and Mrs.
Clarence Glidden were guests at the Mark Tio home in Aurora, and were also
supper guests.
Mr. and Mrs. Pete Willger spent Sunday p.m. with the Jerry O'Connell's.
Mr. and Mrs. Joe Malinowski from Milwaukee were Friday afternoon guests of Mr.
and Mrs. Max Siemek's.
Mr. and Mrs. Jerry O'Connell and son Robert were Chippewa callers Wednesday and
visited their two sons at the Northern Colony.
Mr. and Mrs. Ted Anderson and son Freddie and girlfriend from Hannibal were
Sunday afternoon and supper guests of their mother and grandmother, Mrs. Frank
Popple.
Mrs. Ed Schultz and son Jim spent Saturday evening with her daughter and family,
Mr. and Mrs. Harold Helgerson at Cornell.
Mr. and Mrs. Ed Gay were business callers in Stanley and Chippewa last week.
Mr. and Mrs. Emil Mravik and family of Portage and John Mravik were Sunday
dinner guests of the Al Mravik's.
Thursday evening, Mrs. Emma Vander Kamp and the Mark Tro's of Aurora were guests
of the Clarence Glidden's in Polly.
Installation of the Catholic Women's Order of Foresters was held Monday evening
in St. Bernard's Church Basement at Thorp. Women attending from here were Mrs.
Peter Peetez, Mrs. Harold Kolpack, Mrs. Michael Strzok, Mrs. Tony Filipiak, Mrs.
Clarence Micke, Mrs. Theresa Stuttgen, Mrs. Jo Kapsy, Mrs. Aloys Van den Heuvel,
other Court Order Host from Thorp and Edson.
Frank Swienton and son Richard of Thorp were Sunday afternoon and supper guests
at the Vic Dombrowski home.
Mrs. Frank Herman and son Tavis were Sunday supper guests at the Pat Savasta
home in Thorp.
Joyce Kapsy of Eau Claire and Laurel Hague of Plum City were weekend visitors at
the Steve Kapsy home.
Several people from this area attended the wedding shower on Saturday night at
Nightingale in honor of Kathleen Tomczak and Thomas Geissler.
Mrs. Marcella Knajdek and son Gary of St. Paul visited at the Vic Dombrowski
home on Saturday evening.
Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Pember and family of Menomonie spent the weekend at the
Steve Kapsy home.
Mrs. Pat Savasta spent Monday at their home here, and also visited her mother,
Mrs. Frank Herman.
