Fischer, Leo (25 AUG 1893 – 19 APR 1966)

Leo P. Fischer, 72, passed away at Victory Memorial Hospital at Stanley of a lingering illness on Tuesday, April 19, 1966.

Mr. Fischer, a retired farmer, was born aug. 25, 1893, the son of the late Fred and Elizabeth Fischer, in Sheboygan Co., Wis., coming to the Thorp (Clark Co. Wis.) area in 1907. On May 21, 1921 he was united in marriage to Ruth Brunett at St. Bernard's Church, Thorp.

Funeral services were conducted at 10:00 at St. Hedwig's Chapel on Friday, April 22, with Rev. Edward Masalewicz officiating. Burial was made in St. Bernard's Cemetery.

Pallbearers were W.G. Vanderhyden, Mike Kryzanski, Joe Benzschawel, Tom Polnaszek, Frank Schmidt and Gilbert Voelker.

Surviving are six sons, William and Truman of Thorp, James, Richard, Louis and Eugene of Milwaukee; four daughter-in-laws, Jerry, Edna, Rosemary, and Ruth; one brother, Charles of Minneapolis, and ten grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife Ruth, one brother, Anton, and three sisters, Alma, Cardulia and Jeanette.
