Seidel, Bea S. (Pedersen) (5 AUG 1939 - 30 JUN 2014)

Bea S. Seidel, 74, of Dorchester, passed away on Monday, June 30, 2014, at Ministry Saint Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield.

Bea was born August 5, 1939, in Copenhagen, Denmark, to Carl and Ellen Pedersen. She received her education at Copenhagen schools. On February 26, 1958, she was united in marriage to Donald Seidel in Copenhagen, Denmark. She came to the U.S. on July 12, 1958, and became a naturalized citizen on December 7, 1981. Bea served as Village of Dorchester president and trustee for a number of years.

She was a member of the Dorchester Lioness Club. She loved to read, knit, tend to her flower garden and, above all, she enjoyed spending time with her family and her faithful companion “Buddy.”

Bea is survived by her husband, Donald Seidel; children, Anni (Mark) Bunkelman, Linda Holmes, Karen (Jeff) Willingham, Kay Seidel, William (Chris) Seidel and Kristy (Art) Snow; 13 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. She is further survived by a sister, Anni Jeppesen.

A visitation was held on Saturday, July 5, 2014, from 1-3 p.m. at the Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home in Dorchester. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to your local humane society.
