Boxrucker, Agnes "Aggie" V. (Busch) (26 JUL 1926 - 8 JUL 2014)
Agnes "Aggie" V. Boxrucker, age 87, of Owen, passed away at Clark County Health
Care Center in Owen on Tuesday, July 8, 2014.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, July 11 at 11:30 a.m. at Holy
Rosary Catholic Church in Owen. Father Charles Heibl will officiate. She will be
buried beside her husband of 53 years at Riverside Cemetery in the town of Hixon.
Family and friends are welcome from 10 a.m. until the time of service on Friday
at the church. The Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home in Owen is entrusted with the
arrangements.
Aggie was born on July 26, 1926 in Racine, the daughter of George G. and Vivian
(LaBerge) Busch. She attended Stetsonville Grade School and was a 1944 honor
graduate of Medford High School. After graduation, she worked at the Taylor
County Extension office until October 1946.
Agnes married Al J. Boxrucker on May 15, 1946 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in
Stetsonville, and in October of 1946 the newly married couple moved to Owen, and
resided there since. Al preceded her in death on February 21, 1999. She worked
as a bookkeeper/receptionist for the Bergstrom Oil Company, Post Company and
later for the Woller Oil Company in Owen. In 1971, she went to work for Mid
States Insurance Agency and became a licensed insurance agent, she worked there
until she retired.
She was an active member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church and a charter member and
secretary for many years for the Owen-Withee Veteran's Club, also a volunteer at
Clark County Health Care Center, Friends of the Old School and a member of the
Lifetime Club of the Forward Financial Bank of Withee and volunteered at the Red
Cross Blood Bank, the election board and several civic committees.
Aggie and Al were named Citizens of the Year for the city of Owen in 1983. She
served on committees for the 50th and 70th anniversaries of the city of Owen.
She also was a lifetime member of the VFW Auxiliary Post No. 2227 of Colby.
She enjoyed knitting, camping, traveling, reading, puzzles and spending time
with the Creekside Creamers.
Aggie will be sadly missed by her children, Margaret (Philip) Hollmann of
Pickerel, Joseph (Karen) Boxrucker of Eagle River, Rosemarie Tetzlaff of
Dorchester and Charles (Nikki) Boxrucker of Eagen, Minn.; grandchildren, Michael
(LeeAnn) Zais of Franklin, Jason (Becky) Boxrucker of Eagle River, Jeremy
(Terri) Boxrucker of Sheboygan, Lynn Zais of Fox Lake, Maxine Tetzlaff of
Dorchester, Amanda Boxrucker of Eagan and Kourtney (Marty) Thomas of St. Louis,
Mo. She is further survived by six great-grandchildren; a sister, Jeanie (Bill)
Colman of Lakeland, Fla.; brothers- and sisters-in-laws; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Al; her parents; a sister, Pat; and
brothers- and sisters-in-law.
