Warner, Donald David (8 July 1898 - 26 August 1972)

Donald D. Warner, 74, mayor of Greenwood, died suddenly of an apparent heart attack at his home Saturday afternoon, August 26.

Donald David Warner, son of Leroy and May Ann (Hommel) Warner, was born July 8, 1898, in Greenwood. He was married September 23, 1926, to Lillian Jackson, in Greenwood.

Mr. Warner, a life-long resident of Greenwood, was a retired mail carrier. He as a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church and the Masonic Lodge.

Survivors are his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Donald (Norma) Telford of Eau Claire and Mrs. Thomas (Ann) Larson of San Antonio, Tex.; a son, Harold (Dick) Warner of Chetek; and 13 grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Tuesday at 2 p.m. from Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, with the Rev. David Wenger officiating. Burial was made in the Greenwood Cemetery.
