Larson, Peter (30 October 1885 - 18 August 1972)

Peter Larson, 86, former Greenwood resident, died August 18 in Neillsville where he had resided at Memorial Home since leaving Greenwood a year and a half ago.

Mr. Larson was born October 30, 1885, in Norway and came to this country as a young man. He was married in Scandinavia in 1932 to the former Delia Voie, who died in 1946. He farmed in the Town of Longwood until 1946 and lived in Owen and Greenwood until he went to Memorial Home.

Survivors include a sister, Mrs. Oscar Johnson of Brooklyn, N. Y.; three brothers-in-law, Otto Voie of Greenwood, Elmer Voie of Chicago and William Voie of Kaukauna; and two sisters-in-law, Mrs. Selma Buck of Kennedy, N. D. and Mrs. Lizzie Turner of Clintonville.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday from the Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Longwood. The Rev. William Humlie, pastor of the Lutheran Church in Loyal, officiated. Burial was made in the parish cemetery.

Pallbearers were Erwin Geisler, Godfrey Dyre, James Peterson, Herbert Missling, John Zawadski and Harold Sorenson. The congregation sand, “I Know That my Redeemer Lives and “Abide with Me.” Mrs. Douglas Missling was the organist.

People from away were Mr and Mrs. Leon Turner of Clintonville and Mrs. Charles Steuber of Mondovi.
