Harper, Turon H. (12 DEC 1892 – 14 MAY 1966)
Turon H. Harper, age 74, of rural route 2, Eau Claire, Wis., died May 14, 1966
at Racine, Wis., while visiting his children there. He was born Dec. 12, 1892 at
Richland Center, Wis., and has been a resident of Eau Claire for 36 years. Mr.
Harper came to Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.) in 1902. He teamed and farmed west of Eau
Claire. He was a member of the Salvation Army.
Services were held for him at the Salvation Army Hall Wednesday evening, with
Captain Leilon Ball officiating, and burial was in Lake View Cemetery.
His is survived by two sons, Turon A. Harper Jr., and James Harper, both of
Racine, Wis., and his five daughters, Mrs. Ellen Tompkins of Aberdeen, S.D.,
Mrs. Dorothy Senseth of Minneapolis, Minn., Mrs. Rosena Herrick of Milwaukee,
Wis., Mrs. Ethel Moln of Beloit, Wis., and Mrs. Clara Hegg of Racine, Wis. He
had two sisters, Mrs. Walter Bohn and Mrs. Lewis J. Pagel of Thorp, and nineteen
grandchildren. His wife preceded him in death in 1964.
