The Young Adults of Immanuel United Church of Christ met Thursday evening at the
home of Mr. and Mrs. Delmain Toburen. The Rev. Pacifico Camarin was the leader
in the Bible study. The next meeting will be held Monday evening, September 25,
at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Irving Timmler.
The 85th birthday of Mrs. Olaf Johnson was celebrated at her home Sunday
afternoon. Those present were Mrs. Inga Ludwigson of Milwaukee, Mrs. Anna Elmer,
Miss Ivy Moore, Mrs. David Danielson, Mrs. Jerome Bertz, Mrs. Jack Felix and
Mrs. Ralph Ystad.
Sgt. John Gardner, who served eight months in Vietnam, is spending a 30-day
leave at the home of his parents, M. and Mrs. Harold Gardner, before reporting
to Fort Hood, Tex.
The 50th birthday of Elroy Hanne was celebrated August 20 at the Home for the
Aged where he resides.
Mrs. Hazel Helwig and Mrs. Leota Murphy returned Sunday after spending a week in
Ely, Mn, with Mrs. Murphy’s son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Murphy
and family.
Relatives and friends helped Phillip Vollrath celebrate his birthday Saturday
evening.
Robert Stewart of Stanley spent Saturday with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Robert
Stewart. Mrs. Arthur Stewart of Withee was a Sunday visitor at the Stewart home.
The Rev. and Mrs. Harold Verhulst and family returned to Milbank, S.D., after
spending a week with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Verhulst, and his
brothers, Lyle and Kenneth Verhulst, and their families. His aunt, Miss Ruth
Verhulst, accompanied them to Milbank for a visit.
Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Severson and Miss Louise Keiner were joined by the Seversons
son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Kaisler of Waukesha, Mr. and Mrs.
Elmer Kaisler of Pewaukee, and Mr. and Mrs. Larry Kaisler and family of Sussex
for a weekend outing at the Kaisler cottage on White Lake near Montello.
Mr. and Mrs. William Pfeifer and children, Billy and Nancy, of Milwaukee spent
from Thursday until Saturday at the home of her mother, Mrs. Effie Swieso. All
were supper guests at the Leonard Thiede home in Marshfield.
Miss Monica Brux of Marshfield spent the weekend with her parents, Mr. and Mrs.
Harlan Brux.
Recent guests at the Walter Schwarze home were Mr. and Mrs. Anton Heller of
Ledittown, N. Y., and daughter, Madeline, and Mr. and Mrs. J. G. Galberith,
daughter Nancy, and sons, Ricky and Robbie, of Standish, Mich.
Mr. and Mrs. William Kuester and daughter, Loretta, accompanied Mr. and Mrs.
Douglas Luther of Merrill to Holman Saturday to spend the weekend with the
Luther’s son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs,. James Luther.
A family get-together was held Sunday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Gardner
to celebrate the birthdays of Mrs. Robert Gardner and Jerold Gardner. Those
present were Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Barth of Stanley, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Barth and
daughters, Mrs. Gertrude Barth and Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Malasuk of Thorp and Mr.
and Mrs. Harold Gardner and sons, John, Ray and Jerald.
Mr and Mrs. Norman Olsen and family returned to Milwaukee Sunday after visiting
her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Schwarze. Cindy Olsen, who had spent the summer
with her grandparents, returned with them.
Mr. and Mrs. Henry Thwing of Clintonville, former residents of Greenwood,
visited at the Eugene Carteron home Sunday evening.

Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Heller and daughter, Ruth Ann, of Bay City, Mich., and
Father James Heller of Saginaw, Mich., have returned home after visiting Mr. and
Mrs. Walter Schwarze.
Miss Corrine Verhulst arrived Thursday from Los Angeles, Calif., to spend a
couple of weeks with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Verhulst, and with her
brothers, Lyle and Kenneth Verhulst and their families.
Mr. and Mrs. Ben Monibog and family of Chicago and Miss Loretta Bendicion of
Hamilton, Canada, arrived Wednesday to visit the Rev. and Mrs. Pacifico Camarin.
Mrs. Monibog and Mrs. Camarin are sisters.
