Soczka, Mary L. (Marriage - 2 September 1972)
Miss Mary L. Soczka and Henry A. Awe, who were married September 2 at 2 p.m. in
Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Owen, are making their home on Rt. 1 Owen, where
the groom is engaged in farming. The Rev. George Becker officiated at the
double-ring ceremony uniting the daughter of Mrs. Irene Soczka of Wausau and the
son of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Awe of Rt. 1 Owen.
The bride, given in marriage by her brother, Dan Soczka, was attired in a
floor-length, light blue gown and carried an arrangement of white carnations and
blue mums.
The couple’s attendants were Carol Kaz and Mark Johnson. Miss Kaz’ light beige,
floor-length gown was complimented by a bouquet of carnations and mums. Glendon
Johnson served as usher. Nuptial organ music was played by Mrs. Mahoney.
A reception for 25 guests was held at the Longwood Town hall.
The new Mrs. Awe is a graduate of Athens High School. Her husband attended
Owen-Withee High School.
