Among those graduating May 29, 1966 from Wisconsin State University, River Falls
are three students from the Thorp area and include:
Edward Mathison, son of Mr. and Mrs. Gerhard Mathison of Thorp (Clark Co.,
Wis.), will receive the B.S. Degree in agriculture education, with a minor in
Biology. He will be teaching vocational agriculture at Glenwood City, Wisconsin
next year.
Mr. Mathison has been a member of Collegiate Future Farmers of America, and
served as its president one year, Lutheran Students Association, Collegiate 4-H,
Alpha Gamma Rho social fraternity, Dormitory Council, and also participated in
intramural sports. He received a John May scholarship, was the Outstanding FFA
senior in the College of Agriculture, and was Prime Minister of the Winter
Carnival.
Victoria Szczech, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Szczech of route 3, Stanley,
will receive the B.S. Degree in Liberal Arts, with a major in Medical
Technology. She plans to work in a Chicago hospital next year.
Miss Szczech has been a member of Sigma Chi Sigma and Beta Beta Beta honorary
societies at River Falls.
William Sweda, son of Mr. and Mrs. Matthew Sweda of Lublin, will receive the
B.S. Degree in elementary education, with a minor in psychology.
