William Polnaszek, Racine Funeral Director and former Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.)
resident, has purchased the Rohde Funeral Home in Union Grove, Wis., and will
begin operating the firm on June 1, 1966 under the new name of Rohde – Polnaszek
Funeral home. Since 1959 Mr. Polnaszek had been employed with a Racine firm and
is immediate past president of the Southeastern Funeral Directors Ass'n.
His is a 1949 graduate of Thorp High School, attended Eau Claire State,
University of Wisconsin, and is also a graduate of the Wis. Institute of
Mortuary Science in Milwaukee. He served his apprenticeship in Thorp, Sturgeon
Bay and Green Bay, and became licensed by the Wis. State Board of Health as a
director and embalmer in 1959; also hols a certificate of approval by the
National Funeral Service Examining Board.
A Navy veteran who served as hospital corpsman with the U.S. Marine in Korea. He
is married to the former Rose Ann Deutsch of Stanley, Wis., and has four
children.
