St. George, John Lewis 8 August 1944 - 10 July 2014) With Flag
John Lewis St. George of Abbotsford died suddenly July 10, 2014, while traveling.
John was born Aug. 8, 1944, in Detroit, MI, and graduated from high school in
Brimley, MI (UP). He lived a life characterized by service. John gave years to
his country in the military and in law enforcement and many hours to his
community through Boy Scouts and various events. After a short career in real
estate, he earned his life of leisure and enjoyed friends, family, sailing,
traveling and cheering for the Packers and Red Wings. John’s big heart and zest
for life and generosity will be remembered by many people forever more.
John is survived by his life partner, Cheryl Caldwell; his siblings, Kim and Tom
St. George of Abbotsford and Colleen Kinghorn of Sault Ste. Marie, MI; nieces
and nephews; many friends and “his kids”.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Mary (Brodhagen) and his
brother, Duane.
Following cremation, a Celebration of Life is planned in August in Abbotsford.
Memorials can be directed to Wounded Warriors Project.
The Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home in Abbotsford is entrusted with the
arrangements.
