Mr. and Mrs. Don Van Loo spent the weekend in Thorp at the home of his mother,
Mrs. Kate Van Loo.
A group of friends surprised Mr. and Mrs. Harland Schultz on Wednesday with a
house warming party. The Schultz's were presented with some lawn furniture. The
Schultz's have purchased the Charles Myrin home and Harland is employed at the
bank.
The Sunshine Club met at the home of mgrs. Helen Sapetta on Thursday evening.
Mrs. John Kozenka visited Mrs. Julia Jasinski Sunday evening.
Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Ebben and family spent the weekend in Thorp, after being at
Menomonie the past two weeks. They returned to Mayville on Sunday.
Donna Broeren and Natalie Ciolkosz left on Sunday for Decorah, Iowa, where they
will attend the Darian Music Camp at Luther College. They were both recipients
of the Music Booster Scholarships.
Mrs. Hugo Roesler, Mrs. Walter Bohn, Mrs. Walter Verkuilen and Mrs. Chester
Johnson attended a meeting of the Republican Women's Club at the Neillsville
Country Club on Tuesday.
Mr. and Mrs. Florian Gulczynski and family of Greenwood visited with Mrs. Julia
Jasinski Sunday.
Mr. and Mrs. Fred Warns of Stanley, Mr. John Gates of Mohall, N.D., and Mr. and
Mrs. Bill Vanderhyden of Thorp visited Mrs. Kate Van Loo on Sunday.
Mrs. Victoria Wilcenski of Gilman, Mrs. Bertha Dudansky, and Mrs. Stanley Herman
spent Sunday in Minneapolis, Minn. With Mr. and Mrs. Merlin Williams and family.
Mrs. Estelle Zukowski visited Saturday at the Stanley Mamayek home.
Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Szymanski and Scott returned to Barron on Sunday, after
spending part of last week in Thorp at the Louis Badzinski and the Louise
Szymanski homes.
Mr. Ben Shuman and son, Jerry of Chicago, Ill., and Stanley Herman are spending
a week at Clines resort at Lake Kabetagama in Minnesota.
Mr. and Mrs. Chester Johnson visited Mrs. Charles Ramberg at the Marshfield
Hospital on Thursday.
Mrs. Mary Mamayek was pleasantly surprised with a birthday party Sunday on her
94th birthday. Cake, ice cream and lemonade were served for fourteen patients
and guests at the Victory Memorial Hospital at Stanley.
Miss Lynn Paff spent the weekend in Thorp and returned to St. Paul Sunday
evening.
Mr. and Mrs. Otto Sachs and daughter, Noreen, spent Wednesday with Mrs. Bertha
Dudansky,
Mrs. Mick Senn and children, Michael Jr., Laurie and Darin of Wheeling, Ill.,
spent the past week at the Frank Winiarczyk home in Thorp.
Miss Luellyn Schmidt, Miss Joe Deanne Abbs of Tomah, Wis., Miss Mary Gelhaus,
Medford, Wis., and Miss Jackie Buchholtz of Durand, Wis., returned Saturday from
a trip through the Badlands, Black Hills, South Dakota, Devils Tower, Wyoming,
Yellowstone National Park, Salt Lake City, Utah, and Denver, Colorado. The girls
are all student nurses at St. Joseph's School of Nursing at Marshfield.
Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Bryzczyk and son, Craig, Skip and Allen of St. Paul, were
Saturday evening guests at the John Paff home in Thorp.
Mr. Clause Bradshaw of Arlington Heights, Ill. And Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Bardshaw
and sons of California, visited with Mr. and Mrs. John Hickman.
Mr. and Mrs. Rich Boie and children Kay, Kurt and Kari and Mrs. Harvey Boie
spent Thursday evening in Eau Claire and called on Mr. and Mrs. Jim Sneen and
girls, and Mrs. Vella Schreiber.
Harold Schmidt and Connie Bonk and Irene Schmidt of Minneapolis spent the
weekend at their homes here.
Miss Marcy Badzinski spent Sunday at her home here and returned Monday morning
to Eau Claire.
Mr. and Mrs. Edward Bradle of Leona, Wis., and Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Bradle of
Whitelake, Wis., spent Thursday with Mr. and Mrs. John Hickman.
Mrs. Mick Senn and family of Wheeling, Ill. Visited with Mrs. Rich Boie and
family on Tuesday afternoon.
Mr. and Mrs. Bob Schesel, Mr. and Mrs. Ervie Ketterhagen, Mr. and Mrs. Walter
Bolliger, Mr. and Mrs. L. Gibbs, and Mr. Donald Jensen surprised Mr. and Mrs.
Alvin Benzschawel Wednesday evening, the occasion being their wedding
anniversary.
Mr. and Mrs. Louis Badzinski attended the Strzok – Hofkes wedding in Boyd on
Saturday.
Mr. and Mrs. John Paff and Janet and Ann called at the Leonard Larson home in
Stanley Sunday evening.
Mr. Walter Grabon, Mrs. T. Bauernfeind spent Saturday afternoon with Sister M.
Florence at St. Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield, Wis.
Mr. John Gates of Mohall, N.D. spent the weekend at the W.G. Vanderhyden home.
Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Klak and Mary Jean of Chicago, Ill., visited at the Claude
Benzschawel home on Friday afternoon.
Little Kristie and her brother, Bobbie, left for their home in Estherville, Iowa
Saturday, after spending some time with their grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Walter
Grabon.
Mr. and Mrs. Hugo Roesler spent Sunday visiting at loyal with Mrs. Roesler's
sister, Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Wolters, and Mrs. Roesler's aunt, Mrs. Martha
Castner.
Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Bobb spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Otto Klaar of
Island Lake.
Miss Diane Mamayek spent Wednesday visiting the Charlie Schmidt home at Medford.
Mr. and Mrs. Norm Seidling and sons of Chippewa Falls visited at the Delton
Ebben home Sunday. Randy Seidling is spending a week with his grandparents, Mr.
and Mrs. Delton Ebben.
Mr. Don Weber spent the weekend with his parents at Clear Lake, Wis.
Mr. and Mrs. Roy Saunders and baby of St. Paul are visiting Mack Wincek and
other relatives around.
Mr. and Mrs. David Mamayek and Diane visited with Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Mamayek
on Saturday afternoon.

Thursday a surprise birthday party was given for Mrs. Mack Wincek by her
daughter, Mrs. Stanley Burzynski, who also baked a very pretty cake for her
mother. Some relatives and friends attended the party.
Miss Carol Slowiak was an overnight guest of Miss Diane Mamayek on Wednesday.
Mr. and Mrs. Joe Klak and daughter of Chicago called on Mrs. Leon Bogumill on
Friday.
Mrs. Ben Burkhardt is a patient at the Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire.
Miss Barb Budzinski spent the weekend at her home and then returned to Wausau
Sunday night.
Mrs. Tom Hines and Mrs. Henry Cass of Milwaukee spent 10 days with Mrs. A.E.
Sapetta.
Miss Diane Badzinski of Minneapolis spent the weekend at her home in Thorp.
Mr. and Mrs. Jerome Hansen and family of Marshfield, Wis. Spent Thursday at the
Walter Bohn home.
Mr. and Mrs. Julian Slowiak and family returned home to Elmhurst, Ill Friday,
after a week's stay visiting friend and relatives in Thorp and Stanley.
Miss Viola Strick of Chicago and Mrs. Art Stewart of Withee spent Sunday evening
ith Mrs. A.E. Sapetta.
Family and friend surprised Frank Swienton with a get-together on Sunday
afternoon. The following were there: Mr. and Mrs. Victor Dombroski and family of
Gilman, Mrs. Ray Knajdek of St. Paul, Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Brenner of Gilman, Miss
Marlis Jacques of St. Paul, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Czyzewicz, Mr. and Mrs. Anton
Jacques and family, Mr. Richard Swienton and Mr. and Richard Swienton and Mr.
and Mrs. Alex Badzinski and family and Mr. Jay Alger of Thorp.
Mr. and Mrs. Walter Bohn visited at the Ray Kaz home near Owen on Friday
evening.
Mrs. Stanley Mamayek returned home Tuesday, after nearly a month's stay at St.
Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield. We wish her a speedy recovery.
Mr. and Mrs. Pat Soderberg and Mrs. Arthur Soderberg spent Sunday at the Don
Soderberg home in Marshfield.
