Dark brown haired, green eyed, ambitious, friendly, are only a few appropriate
adjectives to describe Barbara Smiley, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Leland Smiley.
Barbara was born on June 29, 1948 at Memorial Hospital in Wausau. She is the
sister of a married brother and sister.
Before coming to Thorp High School at the beginning of her sophomore year,
Barbara was a student at Stanley High School. Barbara leads a very active life
and is quiet an asset to the senior class. She has been a member of the band,
chorus and play production staff. This year she is enrolled in the Pep Club,
Spanish Club, GAA, and class popcorn making committee. Besides this, Barbara is
a member of the FBI. That is, the Faith Bible Investigators of the Methodist
Church in Stanley, where she is also the director of the Junior Choir, and a
Sunday school teacher. During leisure time, Barbara plays piano or watches
television.
Upon graduation Barbara intends to enter the Eau Claire University and become a
medical technologist.
