Dark brown haired, green eyed, ambitious, friendly, are only a few appropriate adjectives to describe Barbara Smiley, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Leland Smiley. Barbara was born on June 29, 1948 at Memorial Hospital in Wausau. She is the sister of a married brother and sister.

Before coming to Thorp High School at the beginning of her sophomore year, Barbara was a student at Stanley High School. Barbara leads a very active life and is quiet an asset to the senior class. Besides this, Barbara is a member of the FBI. That is, the Faith Bible Investigators of the Methodist Church in Stanley, where she is also the director of the Junior Choir, and a Sunday school teacher.
