Prospect of larger public areas at Mead Lake being questioned by cottage owners; Funeral services for Miss Alice E. Williams, 77, founder of Greenwood library, held from Hill Funeral Home there; The village’s oldest citizen, H. C. Witte, pioneer community businessman, to be honored at Granton Fall Festival. Sydney sewing club, in existence for nearly 55 years, meets as usual on fourth Thursday afternoon of month. Mattes Livestock Market, Thorp, observes 25th anniversary. Members of Neillsville united Church of Christ vote to purchase Cecil Minette residence at 50 Hewett Street for new parsonage; Minettes to take old parsonage on Fourth and Park Streets as part payment. Powerful Cornell team romps over Neillsville Warriors with 58-6 victory; Dale Armitage Neillsville, named Clark County coordinator for Wisconsin “Wiley for Senator” club. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Magnuson start construction of ranch-style home in Town of Grant after completing basement construction two years earlier. Hopes for record year of conservation construction work in county dimmed as more than six inches of rain falls in nine days. Neillsville WRC votes to inform VFW that Corps will transfer mortgage on VFW building in event sale would be made; Approximately 275 relatives, neighbors and other friends gather at Gilbert Rohde home in Eaton Center in observance of Rohdes’ 25th wedding anniversary. All bids to be accepted for construction of the new post office at Fairchild.
