Siems, Helen (25 December 1892 - 26 April 1984)

Mrs. Helen Siems, 91 of Merrillan, died Thursday, April 26, at the Black River Memorial Hospital. She had been in failing health and had been living at the Family Heritage Nursing Home in Black River Falls the past several years.

She was born at Merrillan, Dec. 25, 1892, to Mr. and Mrs. Nels Olson.

Her second husband, William Siems preceded her in death in 1946. Her first husband, William Cook and a step-daughter, Naomi (Cook) Geisler are deceased.

She is survived by one step-daughter, Maxine, Mrs. Steve Walsh of St. Paul, Minn.; two sisters, Mrs. Carl McLaughlin of Stevensville, Montana, and Mrs. Alice Pritchard of Modesto, Calif.; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

The funeral for Mrs. Siems was Saturday from the Jensen Funeral Home in Hixton with the Rev. Margaret Lynn Scott officiating.

Burial was in the Oakwood Cemetery in Merrillan.

Note from Transcriber: Helen was an aunt by marriage twice to my mother, Luella Kopp Mohr of Neillsville. First she married a widower, William Drake Cook who had a daughter, Naomi and Mr. Cook, died and then in some years she married William Siems, who was also a widower, who had a daughter, Maxine. Mr. Cook was my Mom’s aunt’s husband, (the aunt had died of suicide) and Mr. Siems was my Mother’s mother’s brother whose wife died at child birth. DMK
