Giorsegner, Everett (18 Jan 1931 - 30 Mar 1969)
A snowmobiling accident claimed the life of Everett Gorsegner, 38, a Loyal
attorney, Sunday afternoon.
Everett, accompanied by his father, Clarence, Terry Stutte, Robert Domine, Wayne
Clouse and David Shober, were snowmobiling in the Rock Dam area. The group
planned to leave the regular snowmobile trail and as Everett and Terry Stute
left the trail their machines hit a hard ridge of snow. Both machines were
thrown into the air with Terry being thrown from his machine. However, Everett
stayed on his snowmobile and was apparently fatally injured as the machine hit
the ground.
He was rushed to the Neillsville hospital but died shortly after arrival of
internal injuries.
Services were held at Trinity Lutheran Church, Loyal. with the Rev. William
Humlie officiating at the 2 p.m. service. Military rites were conducted by the
American Legion Post 175. Burial was in the Loyal Cemetery.
Myre Funeral Home was in charge of all the arrangements.
Mr. Gorsegner was born January 18, 1931 at Stanley. He was a graduate of
Greenwood High School and Eau Claire State University with a B. E. degree and
from the University of Wisconsin, Madison, with a L.L.B. degree. He came to
Loyal with his parents in 1950. He served in the Armed Forces during the Korean
War from 1951-1953; In 1959 he returned to Loyal and was associated with is
father in the Gorsegner Law Firm. He served as District Attorney of Clark County
from 1960-1964. He was a member of the American Legion Post 175, Loyal Rotary
Club, 40 et 8, Elk's Lodge #665, Odd Fellows Lodge of Wis., Clark County Bar
Association, Wis. Bar Association.
August 20, 1955 he married Sally Howard at Mondovi.
In addition to his wife he is survived by a son, Eric, 12; two daughters, Lori,
9 and Jenni, 7; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Gorsegner, Loyal.
He was preceded in death by one daughter in infancy.
