Hake, Eli (17 NOV 1851 – 22 Sep 1916)

Mrs. Eli Hake died on Friday at her home southeast of the city. She was born on Nov. 17, 1851, at Stadtel Wurttemberg, Germany, and came to America on July 28, 1866. She was united in marriage to Eli Hake on July 8, 1874, and to this union five children were born. Mr. and Mrs. Hake came to Clark County from Jefferson 16 years ago. Deceased was not a member of any church, but was baptized a German Lutheran and during all her life was a devout and kindly woman. She was a splendid type of womanhood and her death is a matter of deep regret to all her friends. She is survived by her husband and the following children: Mrs. Henry Hubing on Union, Montana; Mrs. Fred Steinke and Mrs. Jos. Enterest of Ft. Atkinson; Rush Hake and Warren Hake who live at home. The body was taken to Ft. Atkinson Saturday where the funeral was held Monday. Brief services were conducted at the home here on Saturday by Rev. Pinney.
