Globe (7 Sep 1916)
School in District No. 1 will commence next Monday, Sept. 11, with Miss Esther
Jackson of Neillsville as teacher.
A surprise was held at the home of Linus Prock and wife Monday in honor of Mrs.
Prock’s birthday.
Flora and May Laffingwell returned to Greenwood last Friday after spending a
week here with their mother, Mrs. Fred Schlinkert.
Jimmie Wood and Tony Cornest are doing whitewashing in barns and chicken coops
in this neighborhood.
Walter Mitte is learning the carpenter trade from Otto Poessler at Neillsville.
Frank Kelly and sons are plastering the Lutheran parsonage here at present.
The children of the Lutheran Church will be confirmed here next Sunday at 10
a.m.
This community was greatly shocked to learn of the death of Ruby Schultz,
daughter of Wm. Schultz, in Montana.
Len Schultz is wearing a nice bright smile since he is the father of a son born
Aug. 30th.
Gus. Grap and L. Kalsow and family helped Mrs. G. Mallig celebrate her birthday
Sunday evening.
Paul Klann and family were seen on the Globe road Sunday evening.
