Wenzel, Debra Elvie (Marriage - 9 September 1972)

Mr. and Mrs. William John Goessl, who exchanged wedding vows September 9 at St. Louis Catholic Church in Dorchester before Father Schuh, will make their home in Greenwood. The bride given in marriage by her brother, Terry Wenzel of Dayton, O., is the former Miss Debra Elvie Wenzel, daughter of Mrs. Phyllis Wenzel of Withee. Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Goessel of Rt. 1 Curtiss are the groom’s parents.

The former Miss Wenzel chose an Empire-style bridal gown of white cotton lace fashioned with long, puffed sleeves and a high neckline. Her bouquet of three white roses was accented with small mums echoing the colors of the attendants’ flowers.

Mrs. Sandra Bower, Anoka, Mn, was the matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Miss Linda Johnson of Withee, Miss Carla Montag of Mankato, Mn, Miss Carolyn Kaz of Marshfield, Miss Judy Haegerl of Kenosha and Miss Cathy Kurande of Curtiss. They wore flocked polyester gowns in shades of lilac, yellow, green, apricot, blue and pink, respectively and each carried a single, large mum matching the color of her dress.

Serving as best man was Kenneth Larson, Withee. Groomsmen were Richard Goessl of Withee, Gary Engel of Menomonee Falls, Tom Frane of Mosinee, James Schiszik of Curtiss and James Feldbruegge of Abbotsford. Ushering duties were shared by Dale Bower of Anoka, Mn, and Norbert Goessl of Medford.

Paul Woltman of Mazomanie was the ringbearer. Mis Kim Bower of Anoka, Mn, niece of the bride, was the miniature bride. Soloist Mel Barteck was accompanied by Linda Lueddecke. The Dorchester Memorial Hall was chosen for the reception.

The newlyweds are both graduates of Owen-Withee High School, and she also attended Kenosha Technical Institute. Following a wedding trip to Mackinac Island, the couple will live in Greenwood where the groom is employed as a plumber.
