A blue-eyed blond filled with merriness, a passion for travel, and a willingness to work; so does Karen Louise Alger contribute to Thorp High School. This active senior participated in the GAA, Thorpettes, FHA, forensics, and band. The role of Ida in the senior class play and being Homecoming attendant as a sophomore are among her most precious memories of THS. Karen's favorites include playing records and dancing, and even though she is the oldest in a family of ten, she has found time to hold a job at the Dairy Bar.

Hopes of being an interior decorator are among Karen's future plans. She will probably work first, tehn attend school for training in that field. To travel extensively is her dream, and Paris, Mexico, and the 1968 Olympics are her first destinations. Another of Karen's interests is the Navy, and besides its being the present service of her brother, it holds another meaning for her … In a word to underclassmen, Karen says, "Get the most out of studying that you can. Knowledge and happiness are the best things in live you can have."
