Novotny, Effie (19 September 1887 - September 1972)
Funeral services for a former Globe area resident, Mrs, Carl (Effie) Novotny,
85, of the Havenet Nursing Home at Owen, were held Friday, September 22, at 1:30
p.m. from the Georgas Funeral Home. The Rev. Melvin Nickel of the United
Methodist Church officiated and burial was was made in the Neillsville City
Cemetery.
Mrs, Novotny, the daughter of George and Emma (Shaw) Campbell, was born
September 19, 1887, in Nebraska and also lived in Michigan, Illinois, and
Wisconsin. Her first marriage was to Joseph Meinert; her second, to Carl
Novotny. Both preceded her in death, Mrs. Novotny, who farmed with her husband
in the Globe area, had resided in the nursing home for the last six years.
Survivors include a sister, Mrs. Bessie Hutchinson of Sharon, and three
grandchildren, Gary Meinert of Janesville, Mrs. James (Patricia) Michaels of
Aurora, Ill., and Mrs. R. Friedenfels of Medford.
Pallbearers were: Harold Prock, Ben, William and Ernie Schwellenbach, Otto
Schultz and Lawrence Bohnsack. Organ music was played by Mrs. Jess W. Scott.
Those from out of town who attended the services were Mr. and Mrs. R.
Friedenfels, Ricky and Randy, Mrs. R. Schwellenbach, Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Arndt
and Mrs. Anna Friedenfels, all of Medford; Gary Meinert of Milton Junction and
Mrs. James Michaels of Aurora, Ill.
