Lewandowski, Walter (21 FEB 1900 – 26 FEB 1966)
Walter Lewandowski, 66, passed away at Victory Memorial Hospital, Stanley, on
Saturday, Feb. 26th, 1966 of a lingering illness.
Mr. Lewandowski was born Feb. 21, 1900 in Poland, coming to the states in 1909.
On Feb. 7, 1925 he was united in marriage to Stephanie Kora at Chicago, Ill.,
where they resided until 20 years ago, when bought a farm in the town of
Roosevelt (Taylor Co., Wis.).
Funeral services were held at St. Stanislaus Church, Lublin on Tuesday, March
1st. Rev. Roy Mish officiated at the ten a.m. service, and burial was made in
the Parish Cemetery, with military services held by the American Legion Post
547. Pallbearers were: Frank Zuber, Eugene Zahrzewicz, Peter Wittek, Walter
Hendzel, Joe Penk and Joe Pnacyrz.
Surviving are his wife, Stephanie; one son, John, of Thorp; one daughter
(Lorraine), Mrs. Leonard Nowak, Rice Lake; four sisters, Stella Jablonski,
Bernice Durlak, Jean Shoemaker, Helen Trebatechy, all of Chicago, and six
grandchildren.
Relatives and friends from out of town attending the funeral were from Chicago,
Harwood Heights and Schiller Park, Ill., Rice Lake, Stevens Point, Wausau,
Edgar, Marathon, Boyd, Owen, Withee, Thorp and Lublin.
