Last year Monroe's basketball team was making headlines with an unbeaten record.
During the half-time of the State Championship game, many of us saw a familiar
face. Lyn Baldeschwiler, a former Thorp Varsity Cheerleader, was performing as a
pom-pom girl for Monroe. Since then, Lynn has returned and is back in the swing
of THS.
With a svelt, model-like figure and a flair for fashion, she's known for her
SEVENTEEN-ish argyle, total-look outfit. Often Lyn is seen zig-zagging down the
halls. Her explanation? "The mental stress and the perils of being a senior
unbalances my normal equilibrium."
When finally asked to pinpoint her favorites, she rattle on …Color? Forest
green. Food? Chinese egg noodles? Television? "Zoom…Batman!" Venturing further,
we asked about her favorite teacher preference. She answered with a wide-eyed
innocent look, "Why, Mr. Thurston, of course!"
In the past years at THS, Lyn has been active in National Honor Society,
cheerleading, forensics, band, yearbook, junior paper, GAA, and the Pep and
Spanish Clubs. During the ten-month stay at Monroe, she was a twirler, pom-pom
girl, and Girl Mariner. Her future plans include attending the University of
Wisconsin in Madison.
