Slowiak, Frances M. (28 JUL 1891 – 12 MAR 1966)
Mrs. Frances Mary Slowiak, a resident of Route 3, Stanley, died suddenly
Saturday at the home of her son Henry.
Mrs. Slowiak was born Frances Ciolkosz July 28, 1891 in Poland. She came to the
United States when 15 years old and settled in Chicago. Her marriage to Anton
Slowiak took place in Stanley Oct. 26, 1909, and they farmed in that area. He
died July 19, 1959, and since that time she had resided with her children.
Surviving are six sons and seven daughters, Henry and Alex of Stanley; Walter,
Vincent, Ted and John, all of Chicago; Mrs. John (Anna) Leja of Stanley; Mrs. Al
(Mary) Dublicki, Mrs. Matt (Julia) Pober, Mrs. John (Louise) St. Lawrence,
Therese and Victoria Slowiak, all of Chicago; and Mrs. Paul (Wanda) Chuey, Fox
Lake, Ill; one sister in Poland, and great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held on Monday, March 14 at St. Mary's Junction Catholic
Church, with Father Rudolph Urbic officiating.
