The drums are beating. They're getting louder and louder, faster and faster. The
man behind all this beautiful music is Walter Staniec, drummer for Attila and
the Huns. Wally has been with this group from their very start, and now shares
in their success, as the record "Cheryl" is rate number one in Minneapolis.
Wally is also busy playing with the Polka Band which plays every weekend during
the summer. He not only plays the drums, but is an outstanding trumpet player.
His position as president of the Senior Band keeps him busy too, as well as his
participation in the Dance Band and the Pep Band during his four years in the
THS bands. This musical senior was also selected to play in the FFA band in the
Milwaukee State Fair. He has been a member of the FFA and has helped out as
crewman for the senior play. His future plans are to attend the Wausau Technical
Institute. But in his current leisure time, Wally just walks around the halls of
Thorp High School and looks.
